Kari's love for hairstyling started at a young age, inspired by her mom, who was also a stylist. By four years old, she already knew what she wanted to be when she grew up, and there was never a plan B! Originally from Orcutt, Kari grew up in Louisiana and Kentucky before returning to the Central Coast. She attended Santa Maria Beauty College and has now spent 17 years behind the chair. After settling in San Luis Obispo a few years ago, she's happy to have found a place that truly feels like home.

Kari specializes in dimensional color, from beautiful blondes to rich brunettes, along with lived-in color and long, layered haircuts. She believes the best results come from collaboration, working closely with each guest to understand their goals and create a plan to achieve them while keeping their hair healthy. For Kari, the connection she builds with her clients is just as important as the hair itself. Her goal is to create a welcoming, comfortable experience where every guest feels heard, cared for, and leaves feeling like an elevated version of themselves.

Outside of the salon, Kari loves reading, going to the movies, spending time with loved ones, and discovering new restaurants. She's a big fan of reality TV, especially Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, and RuPaul's Drag Race. She's also a proud cat mom to her orange tabby, Thomas, and has a soft spot for the Muppets, with Miss Piggy being a personal inspiration! You'll rarely find her passing up a fun seasonal latte or an occasional Red Bull.

Kari is excited to bring her experience and passion to Gypsy & Oak, continue learning and growing alongside the team, and welcome both familiar and new faces into her chair.
